Meet Janelle
Licensed Esthetician
Hello there, my name is Janelle M. Wyndroski. With over 30 years in the beauty industry, let me tell you a little more about myself.
I am originally from south of Pittsburgh, PA, and attended The Pittsburgh Beauty Academy (1991) for their Electrolysis/Skincare & Make Up course. Loving the industry, a year later, I attended the Nail Technology/Art licensed program.
I enjoyed the beginning of the spa boom and was employed at one of the top 100 United States spas, doing electrolysis/thermolysis, waxing, facials, and all things nails. Invited to become an OPI educator, I received my certification in their business in 1996.
God's perfect plan allowed me to meet my husband (born on Cherry Point Marine base back when a hospital was there), and we married at the base of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in 2002. The story of my parents honeymooning there and yearly family vacations OBX-style had us yearning to eventually live nearby. We just adore North Carolina.
As medical spa facilities were then slowly starting up in the Pittsburgh area, I obtained a special Esthetics licensure from Douglas Education Center (home of Tom Savini's Make-Up Effects Program). While studying there, I was educated in advanced technology of skin treatments: the original dermabrasion and microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, chemical peels, advanced lymphatic drainage for the face, and much, much more. This prepared me for a career as a medical esthetician. I was employed at one of the first premier plastic surgery and medical centers, where Dr. S. Obagi's (yes, daughter to ZO) injectable patients were some of my clientele.
To be closer to watching my niece and nephew grow up, my husband and I moved to Maryland, a quaint little town called North East. I then decided to add LASER technology to my repertoire and have my advanced certification from The Institute of LASER Medicine (2012), Philadelphia.
I opened my own little spa in Maryland called Estuary Day Spa inside West Street Village. I thoroughly enjoyed owning a safe place where clients are the #1 focus as they walk through the door. Hosting local events and being able to cross-promote with other stores and businesses was extremely enjoyable. It was very exciting to be part of a community. I cherished that memory.
Fast forward a few years, and the kids had graduated high school, and my hubby and I had such a longing to live in NC... so here we are :)
Working for medical spas in New Bern has given me new modality modules and product knowledge that I am beyond grateful for being able to learn. I have also met many beautiful people/clients, inside and out. I very much missed the one-on-one focus I was used to giving at my own establishment. Finally taking the plunge to be a part of something more, I cannot thank Jessica at The Estheva Spa enough for hosting such a special place for me and my guests!
